| Comic book update Marvel ComicsThe big crossover is World War Hulk. In it, the Hulk is back on Earth and angrier than ever before, and therefore stronger than ever before. If you don' know about Planet Hulk, than read the quote box below. If you're informed, then skip ahead. - Quote :
- The Illuminati are six members of the superhero community (Professor X, Iron Man, Black Bolt, Namor, Dr. Strange, Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic) who banded together in secret after the first Kree/Skrull world. Their purpose was to share information and manipulate extraterrestrial affairs in Earth's favor. Black Panther was against the formation because their secrecy justifies the public's fear of costumed heroes.
four members of the Illuminati, Black Bolt, Dr. Strange, Reed Richards, and Iron Man, voted to cast the Hulk away from Earth once and for all. Namor was against it and Prof. X abstained from voting. They tricked Bruce Banner into going on a space shuttle mission. The shuttle was supposed to go to an uninhabited planet where he would live peacefully. Unfortunately, it crash landed on a wartorn planet ruled by some dictator called the Red King. Hulk made some friends (The Warbound), overthrew the Red King and became the new ruler a.k.a. The Green King. He even married and had a kid on the way. The shuttle that he came on was rigged to explode so that he could never return. When it did, it killed millions of the planet's population, including Hulk's wife. The Hulk and his Warbound managed to get a ship and now they're on Earth looking for revenge. Just to put things in perspective, Each member of the warbound is as strong as Hulk was before he left Earth. Hulk wants revenge on the Illuminati who voted him off and killed his people. In the first issue, Hulk man-handled Black Bolt in the first issue. In the second issue, he and his Warbound laid the smack down on The Fantastic Four, The New Avengers, and the Mighty Avengers. Just so you get an idea on how serious this is, here's a roster for each team: Fantastic FourMr. Fantastic - leader Invisible Woman Human Torch Thing Black Panther (temporary) Storm (temporary) New AvengersLuke Cage - leader Iron Fist Dr. Strange Ronin (Clint Barton) Spider-Man Echo Spider-Woman Wolverine Mighty AvengersMs. Marvel - leader Iron Man (wasn't present during the fight) Ares Sentry (wasn't present) Wonder Man Wasp Black Widow In issue three, which I haven't read yet, Hulk is set to take on Sentry, the world's most powerful hero. In the past, Sentry has been known to calm the Hulk down and is considered a friend...But since he's afraid of his own fucking shadow, I'd say Hulk has him dead to rights. | |
